Readymade Garments industry at present is the highest foreign currency earning source of Bangladesh. In the last fiscal year, this sector has earned almost 60 billion dollar that accounts for 75% of the country’s total exports Garments industry is not only contributing to export and foreign currency earnings, but also to employment creation, poverty alleviation and the empowerment of women.

In Bangladesh nearly 80% of the fires are initiated by electrical causes such as short circuits, overloading, loose electrical connections, improper electric earthing, deteriorated wiring insulation flaws of circuit breakers etc. Hence during analyzing the probable causes for fires & explosions, electrical reasons are undoubtedly the top among the ‘most probable causes’. Therefore, electrical safety should deserve maximum attention.
